New composition for bassoon ensemble
In this workshop we’ll make a new composition together. What will it be – a sonata or something in an evocative atmosphere? Are we going to note the composition on paper, or make a video? Or just a sound recording? Should we use new playing techniques or stick to a harmonic pattern? Perhaps a real composer will come along and add the final touches to your composition.

For whom?
Bassoonists who are prepared to take up the challenge of using exciting building blocks to make a new composition.
Keep an eye on my website for the dates of this workshop in the MCO, Hilversum in May/June 2020.

Workshop on Improvisation

We’ll analyse Calefax’s concert in the Sein series and use it as a starting point for improvisation. This gives a new perspective on playing together and listening to each other. The way of moving around and getting to know the music, in the way the Calefax musicians do, will be a revelation to you.

For whom?
Reed players (oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon) who dare to reveal their musical voice without rely-ing on the printed music.

Keep an eye on my website for the dates of these workshops in the MCO, Hilversum in March/April.

Workshop Auditive Methods for a surprising perspective

What’s it like to learn to play a bassoon quartet without having the music in front of you?

If you are willing to rise to the challenge of working without a music score, watch out for the
announcement of this workshop on 8 February 2020 at the MCO.

Je ervaart samenspelen en naar elkaar luisteren vanuit een ander perspectief. Besef van harmonische patronen leer je eerst voelen en horen voordat de theoretische begrippen aan bod komen. Read More
